You’re Invited to a Fairytale Facebook Party!

As mentioned in a previous post, the inspiration for starting my short story contest was submitting my own story, a retelling of Snow White mashed up with the story of Esther, to the Rooglewood Five Poisoned Apples novella contest. Anne Elisabeth Stengl knows how to run a wonderful Facebook group (building up fabulous camaraderie, as well as pins-and-needles anticipation) AND how to throw a great party. Maybe one day this little contest of mine (which I plan to host regularly) will blossom into something big enough to warrant its own FB group and a big winner-reveal party like this!
If you’re curious about how this kind of party looks when you’re only virtually attending through your computer, I want to invite you to join the group and come to the party and see! You don’t have to be a contestant to participate.
Here is the official invite from Anne Elisabeth Stengl:
Rooglewood Press is hosting a winners announcement party on the Five Poisoned Apples Facebook group page on the evening of March 31. Many of you are already members of that page, but if you are not, you are more than welcome to join last minute so that you can participate in the fun.

The party will include the following:

A listing of all Honorable Mentions, along with enthusiastic comments for each from the contest judges.

A listing of all the Finalists, along with enthusiastic comments for each from the contest judges.

Prizes for the Special Unicorns (those 4 contestants who got perfect scores from their judges on their feedback sheets . . . not necessarily contest winners, but folks who deserved special commendation for their unusual achievement. They are each receiving a professional cover design for their perfect-score stories).

The five winners of the contest (along with my personal fan-girl-enthusiasm comments on each story as it is announced).

The final book cover with the five authors’ names listed in order.

Festivities begin at 8:00pm (EST) and are expected to run until approximately 10:30pm.

Have you ever attended a Facebook party before? What was it for? Was it lame or fun? I’ve been blessed to host some pretty fun parties for my book launches, though they always stress me out! It’s hard to get everything in place and keep up with the questions and comments.

I’ll definitely be having stress-ladened fun at this Rooglewood party, wondering if my story makes the cut!
