Your Short Story Entry…How’s it Coming Along?

Hello from the future!

Or…at least that’s how it feels :-/  I’m still stuck at the beginning of March–mentally, anyway–and somehow we’re 10 DAYS from the short story contest deadline! Holy guacamole, Batman!

Submissions have begun to pop into my email box (*happy dance!*) and it’s caught me off guard because, you know, I’m still waiting on St. Patrick’s Day in a week or so.

Well, I do have a pretty good excuse for my brain fog (beyond the blonde hair). My oldest daughter had her second baby on March 5th, and I’ve had the privilege of helping with both of her little girls for the past couple of weeks. It’s been great fun and well-spent sleep deprivation. I absolutely love watching my daughter blossom as a mother, and I also love being a “Mimi” to her two adorable girls!

On the downside, my computer decided to COMPLETELY lock me out (as in, even the Genius’ at the Apple store couldn’t get inside) and so I’ve been without it for nearly two weeks (aka, no ability to write…plus I lost a month’s worth of new material). Sort of like losing a body part, ya know? Ugh! But I’m glad to have it back and am scrambling to get caught up on emails and blogging before I can even start recovering my lost story chapters.

What about you? Has life gotten in the way of your best laid plans to enter my short story contest or other writing opportunities? If so, I hope you’re able to get it sorted out and that your muse will be set free soon! I’d love to hear what’s been going on in your world and how your story is coming along for you. 10 DAYS, PEOPLE!

10. DAYS.

  1. I think new Granddaughters is contagious. Just two weeks ago we had our usual family trip to Twisted Noodle. Our family has this thing about Thai food. It was Ayesha’s first family outing. And she, like the littlest angel slept through out the meal. Looking at Baby K and her Mama’s smile tells the most wonderful of stories.
As obedient grandparents our duty is to love em and spoil them as best we can.
Congrats on a job well done.

    1. Thank you! And congratulations to you as well 😊. Sounds like we both have a good handle on spoiling them as best we can. Such a blessing!
