My Ebenezer

God is specific!

Happy Nearly November!

I think I just made up a holiday ๐Ÿ˜€ “Nearly November” sounds fun, doesn’t it? It’s definitely fall here in Texas (FINALLY). It’ll feel like summer again here and there, no doubt, but I’m enjoying a rainy day in the 40s, sitting in front of my rather fake fireplace, hoping for the real thing soon (hubby has to get some firewood!).

If you read my crazy God-has-a-sense-of-humor post a few weeks ago, I wanted to share a quick follow up. A friend who lives in faraway Illinois read that post and blessed me with the sweetest surprise! She wanted me to remember the very significant day in which God spoke so personally to me. “God is so specific!” she said. “What color was the man’s T-shirt? I’m making you one.”

I was so surprised and blessed by the gesture <3 What a perfect reminder for me, as I’m certain to doubt and feel insecure at times. I told her the T-shirt would be my ‘Ebenezer’. Not of the Scrooge variety, but of the Biblical ‘stone of remembrance’ variety. See 1 Samuel 7:12 if you need the background on this rather odd sounding word ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have you ever made/bought/kept something to remind you of an important milestone or event in your life? What was it? I once read about writing down the “God things” in your life on small rocks, like little Ebenezers, and keeping them somewhere you can revisit them. That’s really a profoundly good idea! For now, I’m thrilled and thankful for my super cute T-shirt that was made and given with such love! Thanks, Diane! It means so much ๐Ÿ™‚
