Contest Update and a Poll!

Hey there, Reading and Writing Friends!

I’m pretty stoked about the response I’ve gotten about my first ever short story contest! Wanted to send out an update and let you know that, due to the magnanimous personalities of some wonderful followers, I HAVE MORE JUDGES!!!

HAPPY DANCE!!!

This translates to: MORE OPENINGS FOR CONTESTANTS! *commence throwing confetti* For now, I’m going to bump up the contestant count to 100 ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, I just quadrupled it, people! Whaaaa???

Stay tuned for another post about what I will be asking the judges to look for…but I bet most of you know the drill: write, revise, write, revise, show don’t tell, show don’t tell ๐Ÿ˜€ And I hope you will share this with your writerly friends. This contest may be less intimidating than those with a publisher or a big name writing celeb (of which I am neither, LOL).

Since I love to give a good prize–I’ve had some pretty $$$ giveaways with my book launches–but can’t afford to do more than a $25 gift card since I think this may be the first of many contests with these awesome Burdick pictures…I wanted to pose a question to you?

Would you be willing to pay a $2 entrance fee to help increase the prize pot? Please take my poll and then let me know your thoughts in the comments!

    I can see the percentage is higher on the poll for people being willing to pay the $2 fee to up the prize entry. If you do end up going that route, could I suggest that instead of a larger prize with the money for first place, you split it up across the first/second/third place or more (each winner receives an amount of money)? I think that would be more of an incentive, personally. ๐Ÿ™‚
